Habitat and locations on the planet
The Gila Monster is found in dry, arid areas. They come out at night or early in the morning to search for food such as small rodents or bird eggs. During the day when it is hot, it stays under brush or rocks. The Gila monster is found in the Mexico and the south western United states, in a range that has Arizona, parts of Nevada, California, Utah and also New Mexico. They live in deserts such as the Mojave and Senora. Also, in scrub-land and oak woodlands, they find shelter in burrows or under rocks where moisture can be found.
